BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH 

 

A senior organizational management consultant, Alphonso has almost three decades of experience in leading and developing highly effective teams and organizations. His General Motor’s career spanned management assignments such as:

 

  • Program Management of $250 million product development projects
  • Supply chain management responsibility for a remote GM Plant
  • Worldwide After-Market Sales Management-Brake System Components
  • Brake Systems Accounts Manager to Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Ford, International Harvester, and GM Truck and Bus
  • Resolving Union/Management grievances for GM Suppliers

Alphonso’s consultant assignments have ranged from turnaround of multi-million dollar companies/divisions to web based strategic best practice based change management and associated training.

Some results achieved from the above assignments: 

·        Strategic and business/operations plans resulting in $35 million revenue increase in less than one year

·        Doubling of inventory turns and profits in less than one year

·        Led GM Tier 1 supplier’s effort to retain five year contract by reducing defects to Zero

·        Led successful launch of new company supplying J.I.T. fascias directly to GM car assembly line

Alphonso has a M.A. degree in Business Management (Management and Supervision) and a B.S. in Industrial Technology (Electronics).  He has taught Operations Management at Graduate level and is a Management Lecturer and Adjunct Professor at three Universities. He conducts training in a wide variety of subjects such as leadership development, conflict resolution, and capacity building. He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel certified in Logistics, Communications-Electronics, and Corps of Engineers.  He also was an Adjunct Professor for the Army’s Command and General Staff College.
